Specimen Requirements

Send infecting bacteria. Bacteria should be in pure culture, actively growing, placed in a proper mailing container, and labeled as an etiologic agent. Appropriate antimicrobials will be tested.

Note:  1. Label specimen with patient’s name, date of birth or hospital medical record number, specimen source, date and time of collection, and collector’s initials.

2. Organism identification and specimen source are required.
