Specimen Type: Plasma or Serum
Collection Container/Tube:
Preferred: Green-top (lithium heparin) gel tube
Acceptable: Plain, red-top tube or SST
Specimen Volume: 2 mL
Pediatric (minimum) volume: 0.5 mL

Reference Values
- Desirable: < 150 mg/dL
- Borderline High: 150 - 199 mg/dL
- High Risk: >200 mg/dL
If Triglycerides are > 400 on a Lipid Profile, the calculated LDL will reflex to a direct LDL (test code LDLC).
