To detect or confirm the presence of organic disease and/or to check a prognosis. 

Specimen Requirements

Special Note: Specimen must arrive within 24 hours of draw.  Specimen will be rejected if clots are present in specimen tube.

 

Draw a full, lavender-top (EDTA) tube. Invert gently several times to mix blood.
The minimum amount of sample accepted is 1 ml of whole blood.
