Useful For

This test detects KPC, NDM, VIM, IMP, and OXA-48 gene sequences associated with carbapenem-resistant organisms (CRO) in clinical specimens.
 

CRO testing is used as an aid in infection control in the detection of CRO that colonize patients in health care settings and is not intended to guide or monitor treatment for CRO bacterial infections.

Specimen Requirements

Specimens:
Rectal or peri-rectal swab collected using Copan dual swab collection kit, or equivalent, received within 5 days of collection.
 

Transport/Stability:

Store and ship at ambient (15°C to 28°C) temperature within 5 days of collection.
