Order Code LABSARSCOV2FLURSV SARS-CoV-2/Influenza A&B/Respiratory SyncytialVirus, Molecular Detection
Useful For
Rapid molecular in vitro diagnostic test intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid from the SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA, Influenza A and B RNA, and RSV RNA from individuals suspected of Covid-19, Influenza, and or RSV.
Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: Nasopharyngeal (NP)
Supplies: Nasopharyngeal Swab (Rayon Mini-Tip Swab) (T515)
Container/Tube: Universal transport media, viral transport media (eg, Copan UTM-RT, BD VTM, MicroTest M4, M4-RT, M5).
Specimen Volume: Entire 3 mL collection
Collection Instructions:
1. Collect specimen by swabbing back and forth over nasal or pharyngeal mucosa surface to maximize recovery of cells.
2. Swab must be placed into transport medium. Swab shaft should be broken so that the there is no obstruction to the sample or pressure on the media container cap.
3. Do not send in glass tube.
Specimen Stability
Specimen Type | Temperature | Stability |
Flocked Swab in Transport Media | Ambient | 48 hours |
Refrigerated (preferred) | 7 days | |
Frozen | N/A |
